Browsing the site

You do not need an account to browse ModLab. The site has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies, and it loads nothing from other companies except the optional security check described below. If you use the motion switch in the header, your choice is saved in your own browser (local storage) so the site can remember it. It is never sent to us.

The enquiry form

When you send an enquiry we receive three things: your email address, what you want to achieve, and, if you add it, the software or platform involved. We use them only to read your request and reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not share your enquiry with anyone else.

A copy of each enquiry is kept on our server so nothing is lost if an email fails. Enquiries are deleted after 12 months. Please do not put passwords, keys or private files into the form.

Spam protection and hosting

The form uses simple spam checks (a hidden field, a minimum fill time and rate limits). It may also use Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs a short check in your browser. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes visitor IP addresses to deliver pages and block abuse.

Contributions

The "Buy me a coffee" button and the QR code lead to buymeacoffee.com, a different website. Nothing is sent to it until you open the link. If you contribute, Buy Me a Coffee and Stripe process your payment and any name or message you choose to give, under their own privacy policies. ModLab does not see your card details and receives only what the platform reports to us, such as the amount and the name or message you entered.

Services and accounts

Accounts are created inside each service, not on this site. A service explains what it stores and how long, for example how temporary data is deleted, on its own pages.

You can ask us to show, correct or delete what we hold about you, for example an enquiry you sent. Write to [email protected].
